Tribulus terrestris is a herbaceous annual or perennial plant that grows in warm temperate and tropical regions of the world including southern Europe, southern Asia, Africa and northern Australia. The name Tribulus is derived from the Latin word meaning "Caltrop" (spiky weapon) a name that relates to the thorn head shaped very much like a goat or bulls head. It has been used in folk medicine and Ayurveda and more recently in body-building.

Epimedium is a genus about 60 or more species of herbaceous flowering plants, including Epimedium sagettatum. The Chinese call the plant Yin Yang Huo, which can be translated as "Licentious goat plant". Many species of Epimedium are alleged to have aphrodisiac qualities. According to legend, this property was discovered by a Chinese goat herder who noticed sexual activity in his flock after they ate the weed. Quebracho (Aspidosperma quebracho)

Quebracho is an evergreen tree which sometimes rises to 90 meters, with an erect stem and wide-spreading crown. The tree from which Quebracho wood bark is derived is native to Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Southern Brazil.
It is reputedly one of the hardest woods, and is commercially used both for construction and in the production of leather because of its high tannin content. The wood of all the species of this genus is valuable.
