Kajuyali Tsamani

Description

Kajuyali Tsamani is a Jaguar-shaman who works with Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) and Yopo (Anadenanthera sp.). He is initiated by shamans from different tribes from the Amazon jungle (Inga, Kofan, Siona, Muinane and Uitoto), Los Llanos de Orinoco (Siguani) and the Andes (Kogi). As director of the "Colombian Fundacíon de Investigaciones Chamanistas" (Foundation for Shamanic Research) he is working on the project "Nabi Nunhue" (House of the Jaguar), which is devoted to the conservation of the tropical rainforest, the knowledge of healing plants and of shamanic medicine.

Historical

As a young child Kajuyali Tsamani would listen to his grandfather telling stories of life in the jungle. "He spoke of jaguars, anacondas, alligators, spirits and shamans. Fascinated, I listened to his stories and he promised me that when I was old enough, I would go to these places and learn about the Indians too."
In 1978, while studying anthropology at the National University of Colombia, the opportunity finally opened for him to assist a land redevelopment project that ultimately took him into the jungle of the Amazon. It was there that he would receive his first shamanic teaching, through Coca leaf (Erythroxylon coca) Ambil (Tobacco honey). This would begin his shamanic path that would ultimately take him to what he refers as his "Seven Grandfathers" (elder shaman teachers).
From 1980-1981, he lived with the Kogi indians in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta in northern Colombia. A pre-Columbian tribe, the Kogi are one of the last untouched societies left on this planet. They are a spiritually peaceful and metaphysically adept society, referring to themselves as the "Elder Brother of the world". It was here that Kajuyali received his first initiation.
For the next ten years he would return to the jungles of the Amazon to continue his study of Coca and Tobacco. But the day came that his teacher sent him to find Ayahuasca in the Valley of Sibundoy. During the following eight years, throughout the 1990's, he received the shamanic teachings of Ayahuasca with his teacher Taita Martin Agreda, who consecrated him as a "Yagesero shaman".
Since 2001 he has started a new apprenticeship of the Native American Lakota. He has received the traditions of the Cannunpa Wakan (The sacred pipe), the Inipi (The sweat lodge) and Hanblecheypai (The Search for Vision) from Ta Cante Wakan, a descendant of the Crazy Horse lineage.
With a Ph.D in anthropology, Kajuyali is currently Director of the Foundation of Shamanic Investigations (Department of Narino, Colombia). He has written the book entitled "Ayahuasca, Vine of Seeing, String of the Universe". He currently hosts his own shamanic experiences in Colombia from his Maloca (House-Cosmos) and home Nabi Nunhue, meaning House of the Jaguar.

We live in times in which it is urgent to find and to construct a way to live a physically and spiritually healthy life. The sacred Ayahuasca plant (Banisteriopsis caapi) offers us ways of curing and knowledge that allow us to activate a worthy way of existence, to live in harmony with the Cosmos and to find ourselves as children of our Mother Earth. When we lived our process on gestation and formation in our mother, we received our fundamental food by means of the navel-string.
The Ayahuasca vine is the navel-string of the Cosmos, the Pachamama. This navel-string arises from the entrails of our Mother Earth, to nourish us with health and knowledge adapted to the vital energy of the Cosmos. In our bodies, in our society and in our culture exists an inheritance of diseases. During many years we have forgotten we are children of Mother Earth and we dedicated ourselves to destroying great parts of her vital manifestations. Under this ominous activity we transformed and we changed our better and suitable habits of life for the worse. By sickening and destroying great parts of life on Earth, we ourselves are becoming ill and are destroying our physical and spiritual health.
Because of this, not a single human being exists that does not suffer from one or the other problem of physical or spiritual health. We are all ill and we are all responsible for it. It is urgent to find a way of healing and knowledge so that our way of life will be full of good health in body, mind and spirit, of vital energy and natural surroundings, on a social and cultural level. The sacred Ayahuasca plant offers us that way of healing.

Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) grows naturally in the regions of the tropical humid forests. Its name comes from the Quichua language and is constructed by two words: "Aya" and "Huasca". "Aya" means energy, ancestor and spirit. "Huasca" means: liana, cord, vine. Ayahuasca is the liana that contains the energy of the ancestral spirit. It is a fundamental food given to us by our Grandmother Cosmos and our Mother Earth, which becomes a privileged medicine to find our own curing and the suitable knowledge to manage a new era. The sacred and medicinal use of Ayahuasca is thousands of years old. There are lots of testimonies of treatments of various types of cancer, AIDS, digestive hepatitis and gastritis. It purifies the blood, the vital organs and increases the vital energy. It cures mental and spiritual disorders. It is an excellent medicine to cure alcoholism, addiction to tobacco and to drugs. Whereas it produces a direct confrontation with inadequate ways of life, it is a very good medicine to be used in healing therapies related to individual, cultural, social and family life.
Ayahuasca causes states of superb mental, spiritual and physical concentration and relaxation, which allows the development of aptitudes and attitudes related to the intellect, the body and the artistic talents. At the same time it increases the cerebral activity of the right hemisphere facilitating higher levels of perception and artistic and aesthetic sensitivity; it is harmonizing the left and right sides of the brain, which repels in a harmonization of our physical, mental and spiritual life.

Taita Querubin

Description

Taita Querubín Queta, a Cofán shaman from the lower Putumayo region, is one of the most respected native healers in Colombia. The Cofán people’s ancestral territory is located in the tropical forest along the borders of Ecuador and Colombia, near the major rivers that flow from the Andes mountains to the Amazon basin. About 1,000 Cofán live in Colombia, most of them in 11 communities in the municipalities of San Miguel, Valle del Guamuez and Orito, in the department of Putumayo. Their territory, culture and survival are seriously threatened by dynamics associated with the drugs trade, the armed conflict and large mega-projects being developed in their territory.
By buying this CD you support the work of the "Kahansi Thesi Association". "Kahansi Thesi" means in the Cofán language "Boa-Jaguar", a mythical snake from Cofán cosmology with the colors of the jaguar.
