It is regarded as a grounding and calming fragrance, helping people connect to the deeper levels of their soul. It is burned a lot in Mexico, particularly on the Day of the Dead, when it's said to be used to help souls find their way back home.

Legal Remarks
While Mimosa hostilis is NOT a scheduled plant, around Sept 16th 2012 there was a domestic raid in the United States and vendors selling, brokering or shipping Jurema within the State borders were taken by the police and held for a day, while the DEA rifled through their supplies and other belongings. All Mimosa stock was confiscated and the subjects were let out of jail with express instructions not to continue to distribute Mimosa hostilis.
This recent news made us decide not to ship Mimosa hostilis to customers in the United States any more. We will not risk bringing our customers and ourselves in legal trouble.
